Award-winning artist

As an artist I look for beauty in all of its forms. Sometimes beauty is obvious but I believe that part of what it means to be an artist is to find beauty where others might walk straight by. My current passion is capturing the movement, grace, strength and softness of ballet as a beautiful art form.

I am lucky in that I have the opportunity to travel and as a passionate plein air artist, I use art not just as a way of recording my travels but also to ensure that I take my time and really see the places that I am experiencing. Art has changed the way that I see the world and has changed the way that I live my life.

I see making art as a way of telling a story. The story may be as uncomplicated as reminding people of the simple beauty that is all around them in this amazing world. The story may be more complex like a series of paintings themed around the story of a Great Uncle that died in the WW1 Battle of Bullecourt and his death's wider impact on the family and his local farming community. I enjoy learning the back-story of the paintings that people commission me to paint, I regard all of the stories as important but in differing ways and differing contexts.

My artwork has been displayed across Australia and the world at sites such as The Pentagon, the Australian War Memorial, the Queensland State Library, The Army Aviation Museum, The Queensland Parliament, The Queensland Maritime Museum, The Gallipoli Club and in sites related to Australia’s involvement in the Western Front in France including the Musee Jean et Denise Letaille - Bullecourt 1917 as well as in private collections within Australia and overseas.

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in a viewing or for further information on galleries that show my work or to enquire about a possible commission.
